What's done is done

We have clothes, and rings, and a location. We will have flowers. We will have guests. We have a lovely place to stay, overlooking the ocean. We applied for the license.

We have a ceremony, and vows we chose. (We have to rehearse, he says.) We have the officiant.

I still have to decide on a cake. And we have to finalize the restaurant for lunch afterwards. So we'll be going back to Ogunquit this Saturday.

We better have sunshine. Otherwise, we'll have to have umbrellas.

Location, location, location

We took a ride up to Ogunquit last Saturday, to scout out a spot on the Marginal Way for our ceremony. We're going to be staying at The Beachmere and the "wedding lunch" is most likely going to be at The Oarweed, so those are our starting points. From the Oarweed it's about a 10 minute walk, to the memorial stone for all of the people who helped restore the path after the storms in 1991.

From the Beachmere, it's about 7 minutes- and barely a minute beyond the Little Beach lighthouse at Isreal Head Road. If you come in from there, face the ocean and go to your right over the rise, and you're right there.

There's a little clearing with some bushes and pine trees, on the land side of the path- behind bench #11. Plenty of space for us to stand, a little greenery to screen from traffic, and a view of the ocean. It's perfect.
